Hi, what kind of chemicals are your cows exsposed to? For example, antibiotics, pesticides from their food, and growth hormones.

We do not feed any corn to our beef. The only grain we feed is barley.

Hi:
I am taking a holistic nutrition course and the talk often turns to veganism. I am a meat eater and buy my meat from a local farm on the East coast. We watched a movie that raised some interesting points about organic farming today and I am wondering if you can answer my questions for me.
Where do you buy your animals from? What do you do if an animal gets sick and needs antiobiotics. Are you chicks left to roam outside? Do they have sufficient room in the hen house? Do you de-beak or cage them at all? What happens to the male chicks? What food do you feed your chickens and cows. You said you only have a limited supply of grass fed cows so what else do you feed them? What does "grass finished" mean? How do you dispose of your animals waste? Do you grow vegetables as well? How do you slaughter your chickens when it is time? The article on the cow slaughter was very informative. Certainly more humane than some farmers. Do you know if Canada farms have higher or lower standards for farming than American farms? Do you know where I might be able to find the information about farm standards? How long is the transfer process for your animals when they go to slaughter?
I hope you can answer all these questions for me or at least point me in the right direction to get the answers.
Thank you for your time.

My husband and I purchased extra lean ground beef and a few steaks from the Kingsland Farmers Market location last weekend. The staff was AMAZING and so very informative.
The meat was phenomenal, I really was not expecting it to taste any different then the non organic supermarket meat, but it really did!
Plus my 2yr old devoured the meal we made with it. (normally she spits beef out).
I will be back for more for sure!

Hi Linda,

Sorry we do not sell turkey necks. You may want to check with http://www.sunworksfarm.com/ or http://wintersturkeys.ca/ . They both carry turkey pieces. Good luck with your search!
