Tim Hoven from Hoven Farms explains the latest cattle move on the farm. The grass-fed cattle are being moved to a new section of stockpiled pasture and grass.
We last grazed this pasture in Late July last year so that we can stockpile the grass that grew in August and September. Now it is spring and we move the cattle on this grass for the cows to begin grazing. This gets the cows eating pasture instead of us having to feed them stored hay until there is enough new grass in May for the cows to eat.
